Hasp key software#
Generally it involves "dumping" the content of the dongle into a file by using a dedicated software and then sending the dump file and a copy of the installation file of our specific software to the guys that will design a custom software clone of our dongle and then sell it to us.Ģ) Physical clone: I wonder if there was a way to maybe make a physical clone of our dongle. The USB dongle shows up in Device Manger as 2 devices: " Sentinel HASP Key" and " Sentinel HL Key".ġ) Software clone: I googled for ways to clone it and found numerous website that offer to clone our dongle for a fee. This is exactly what I fear: all of us would be blocked from using the software for a long time. They said if we lose or break the USB dongle, they might replace it but this would take weeks. They can sell us another key but that would be the price of a 2nd license. I contacted the seller and they say they cannot give us a backup dongle. I'm scared at some point we'll just lose it or brake it for good. However, since multiple people use the software and pass the USB dongle around, we almost lost or broke it several times already.

No special rights are required after the installation. Installation of the Run-time Environment on a computer requires administrator rights. This service is started automatically when the machine is started. The Sentinel LDK License Manager service must be active at all times on the machine where the Admin LM is used. The Admin LM must be present on machines where network protection keys are located. Sessions for SL UserMode keys are not visible. Sessions for protection keys that are handled by the Admin LM are visible in Admin Control Center. Under Windows, the Admin LM can also manage SL UserMode keys. The Admin LM can manage Sentinel HL keys, SL Legacy keys, and SL AdminMode keys. The Admin LM can also be managed with Sentinel Admin API. The Run-time Environment also includes device drivers, data file encryption drivers, and Sentinel Admin Control Center, which is the user interface for the Admin LM. NOTEUnder certain circumstances, when a protected application fails, the External LM returns network seats to the pool of available seats more quickly than the Integrated LM. The External LM can be upgraded by simply replacing the hasp_rt.exe file with a later version of the file. However, the External LM can be managed with Sentinel Admin API.Īdmin rights are not required to deploy the External LM. (To handle SL UserMode protection keys, you must place your customized Vendor library in the same directory as the protected application.) The External LM is able to directly handle local SL UserMode keys, local Sentinel HL (Driverless configuration) keys. A given instance of the External LM is dedicated to the protected application whose directory contains the hasp_rt.exe file. The hasp_rt.exe file must be placed in the same directory as the protected application. The External License Manager ( External LM) is contained in a standalone file: hasp_rt.exe. The Integrated LM can be upgraded by upgrading the Licensing API or by re-protecting the application with the latest version of Sentinel LDK Envelope. Under Android, no configuration is required. Under Linux, the Integrated LM can be configured manually as described in this section.
Under Windows, the Integrated LM can be managed with Sentinel Admin API (described in License Manager Tools).
